Amy Hennesey is an Irish Artist & Designer from Clontarf in Dublin. Amy’s work encompasses a range of creative expressions including abstract paintings on canvas, graphic art & photography. In her studio in Clontarf, Amy brings to life each piece, mostly drawing inspiration from the colours, shapes and beauty of the Irish coastal landscape.
Paintings
Amy’s recent body of work (acrylic & soft pastel on Canvas) is called ‘perspective’. The paintings within this series depict the Irish landscape from various viewpoints, both eye-level & from an aerial view. The view from an aerial perspective (birds-eye) gives the land a pattern-like appearance.
The idea behind the paintings is that; in life, everyone sees the world through their own eyes, from their own perspective. Their perspective was undoubtedly influenced and informed by their surroundings and the patterns, habits & lifestyles of the family within which they were born into or lived with, as children. Amy’s hope is that each painting will evoke a feeling of harmony, despite the varying perspectives depicted within each piece.
